Students and soldiers clash at Nasarawa State University, Keffi


This early morning at about 7:30am, students of Nasarawa State University, In a local government area, Keffi, clashed with soldiers after they protested over not having water for many days on campus.
The Soldiers were said to have been called into the school to restore sanity, but instead of that they went ahead and clashed with the students, and ended up shooting two persons to death, and injuring three others at the High Court area of Keffi, where the security personnel tried to break up the protesters at about 11am.
The soldiers allegedly went to the off campus hostels to harrass and beat up students. The school has been closed down indefinitely as a result of this. The Governor of Nasarawa state, Tanko Almakura, have since advised all students of the school to leave the school premises with immidiate effect till further notice.
